If
most dance studios out there seem to have qualified, friendly
teachers, teachers with experience in teaching children and a
recital at the end of the year, aren’t they all pretty much the
same?
Does
it really matter where you decide to enroll your child?
Yes.
There are 5 main factors that can make a huge
difference in the quality of instruction that your child
receives. PSPA believes Dance is for LIFE and LIFE is
DANCE...Give your child the very best in their education while
they are young, ... and it will last a lifetime!
PSPA
wants you to have 5 factors that every parent should consider
before deciding on a Dance & Theater Arts studio for their
child:
PSPA Dance Studios Advantage - The "Floating"
Professional Dance Floor
1. What
type of floor is being used?
Dance is a very physical activity that requires a
lot of jumping, which can put lots of stress on the bones and
joints of many young dancers. The best way to prevent against
potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional
“floating floor”. Our high-density foam base is
superior to just a “sprung” floor, which usually consists of a
wood structure built on the regular floor. Added to our
“floating” floor we have a very expensive permanent
“Marley” floor that is accepted by worldwide professional
schools as the best surface layer for all professional dance
companies. Very few studios in our area use professional
“Floating” & “Marley” floors
like PSPA because of the very high expense involved. Most
schools usually opt for a regular floor tile/solid surface that
is not safe for your child.

2.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE CLASS?
In a smaller dance class each student will receive more
personalized attention, learn more, and have more fun. Our
smaller class sizes also ensure that every student understands
the fundamental concepts of dance and allows our teachers to
catch early on any bad habits or improper technique. PSPA
preschool and kindergarten classes (ages 3-6) are limited to
only 12 students per teacher per class, with teacher assistants
in many of our classes. In addition, most of our classes include
teaching assistants, making two or more teachers available for
all our students.
3.WHAT DOES THE END OF THE YEAR SHOWS ENTAIL?
At The Pa School of the Performing Arts & SIMBT, we take great
pride in putting on full-scale professional shows. Our shows
are not your typical long recital produced by most dance
studios. We have professional lighting and sound, we pay special
attention to every detail from the flow of the show to the
quality themes of our programs on and behind the stage. All of
our dancers from pre –school to adults who participate in our
events are in professionally made costumes, completing the look
of our productions. All our dancers, not just the company
members, experience what dancing on a real stage is really like.
Many say our shows are the best in our area and “Broadway”
caliber! Most studios opt for easy low scale push-button long
recitals, featuring, on and off lighting, costumes that are not
appropriate or flattering to the children, no attention to
detail and a boom box. Our annual Dance Productions hold a
lifetime of memories and are truly a memorable event for all
involved.
4.WHAT IS THE DANCE CLASS VIEWING POLICY?
Many studios have only once a year viewing times. Our dance
studios have new two-way windows that you can view your child
anytime. All parents, grandparents and friends
can come and watch ANYTIME.
5.WHO IS TEACHING YOUR CHILDREN?
We have highly qualified, former Broadway/Ballet and
professional trained teachers with varied teaching methods that
are available to teach a broad range of Dance Styles for all
ages. Many master teachers are brought in from NYC that are on
the cutting edge of the new styles and take teacher-training
workshops every year. We also have a certified Teacher Training
Program (TTP) also available for gifted students taught by
former Broadway Performer & Master Class Teacher - Mrs. Lee,
Director and Founder of both PSPA/SIMBT. |
